- Mass Pike Towers is a 200 unit mixed income family housing development located in the Chinatown section of Boston. This expiring use HUD 236 project was faced with the prepayment of its mortgage and the potential loss of affordable housing subsidies. Trinity acquired the property in the Spring of 2000, and with its Community Partner, South Cove Nursing Facilities Foundation, Inc., managed the investment of nearly $8 million in capital improvements including new kitchens, new ventilation, a redesigned lobby, new windows, new hot water and heating systems, and new landscaping. In addition, Trinity secured the renewal of Section 8 contracts for 40 residents, and helped 135 residents obtain new Section 8 vouchers, most of whom were already paying more than 30% of their income for rent.
